After reviewing AP, Baby, Innocent World, and Moitie, we’re finally getting to the end of the data about all the major brand releases from 2021. If you haven’t already, please check out parts one and two. If you’d like to see the data, you can check out my Google Sheet here.
There’s a lot of info to go through, so I’m breaking this up into a few different blog posts. Last, we have Metamorphose.
Disclaimers and caveats: I do not own most of these pieces and cannot guarantee the sizing information is accurate. I may have missed items that weren’t in Lolibrary.
Method: I entered every item in Lolibrary from 2021 in the OP, JSK, and skirt categories. I excluded sets, and instances where a single release had multiple colors with separate entries. I copied the name of the item, the measurements, the price, and the link exactly as it appeared in Lolibrary. In cases of obvious error, I looked up the specific info on the brand’s website.
Metamorphose Temps De Fille
Total pieces released: 76
JSK: 62
OP: 10
Skirt: 4
Lowest price: ¥18,700
Highest Price: ¥57,200
Average: ¥34,236 (removing the obvious outliers)
Meta’s data is a little harder to sort through because of the way they’ve structured releases, but one thing that’s for certain: Meta is doubling down on releasing plus size pieces. 29 of their releases included a plus size release (although not every cut has a plus size option). 7 of their releases included a plus plus size release. Only 5 of their releases included a bust measurement of less than 100 cm. 37 of their releases have a bust measurement of up to 120 cm and 6 of their releases had a bust measurement of up to 140 cm. There is no contest, Meta is clearly the most sizing inclusive major Japanese brand.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement, however. All of the plus size options are more expensive than the straight size options. The difference for most of these releases is between $10-20. While still less than the cost of alterations, it’s unfortunate that plus size customers have to pay a premium for clothes that fit.
Meta’s average price is a little higher than Innocent World, MMM, and Angelic Pretty, but lower than Baby’s. You should budget a little under $350 for any Meta release you’re interested in.
Despite having less releases than AP and Baby, Metamorphose’s designs tend to vary a lot more widely. Their releases are generally pretty sweet and tend to rely heavily on prints, but they also have solid and print releases that could work in classic, wa lolita, and other sub styles. It truly makes it exciting (and completely unpredictable) to see what Meta will release next.

And let’s not forget that so many of Meta’s releases have a gazillion detachable parts to switch the dresses up as required.
